JBL’s first soundbar with Dolby Atmos, the JBL Bar 9.1 True Wireless Surround Sound is available now

The new soundbar turns the living room into a cinema with true 3D surround sound

London – 26 MARCH 2020 – The latest addition to JBL’s Bar Series brings the ultimate cinematic experience home. The JBL Bar 9.1 True Wireless Surround with Dolby Atmos® and DTS:XTM creates total sound immersion with upward-firing drivers, detachable wireless surround speakers and 9.1 channels from the combined audio expertise of JBL and Dolby. Enjoy true wireless surround sound with JBL Original Pro Sound – now with the streaming support of Google Chromecast and Apple Airplay 2.

With the Bar 9.1, JBL’s engineers have unchained sound from the limitations of traditional 5.1 and 7.1 channel-based surround sound systems. By designating the trajectories of audio pathways, the Dolby Atmos and DTS:X systems create a true 3D surround sound that moves realistically around and above you.

For complete audio immersion, the soundbar and its two detachable speakers have four up-firing drivers. These custom drivers shoot sound off to the ceiling and back down, creating an unmatched 3D listening experience. The built-in dual microphone algorithm provides smart calibration, optimizing the surround sound no matter where the detachable wireless speakers are placed.

With 820 watts of total system power, every Oscar-worthy performance and soundtrack gets the spotlight it deserves, just as the filmmaker intended. To round out the Bar 9.1 system, an included 10-inch powered subwoofer features a down-firing driver to deliver deep, pulse-pounding bass.

On top of its dynamic cutting-edge audio, the Bar 9.1 supports 4K video and Dolby Vision, automatically optimizing the picture for every screen. The Bar 9.1 also has Chromecast and Airplay 2 built-in to stream high-resolution music straight to the soundbar and so it can be part of your home audio setup.

Despite packing so much punch, the JBL Bar 9.1 True Wireless Surround system has a sleek low-profile design to ensure a perfect fit underneath any television. Its premium top panel and metal grill body blends seamlessly into any living area or cinema room setup.

The future of home cinema is here: JBL Bar 9.1 is available now on JBL.com for 999 €.
